「帰り道」[ On the way home ]
晩秋の夕焼け空の下、家路につく一人の若者と送電塔を入れて撮ってみた。
各務ヶ原からの帰り道だった。
On the way home from Kagamihara in Gifu Pref, I encountered the unique and beautiful sky.
「西の湖の夕暮れ」[ Sunset over Lake Nishi ]
10分前には、こんなにも赤く焼けていなかったけれど、
太陽が湖面に近づくにつれ、アッと言う間にあたりが真っ赤に染まりました。
12月の西の湖に魅了されながら・・・。
I was enchanted by the burning sunset over the lake.
「秋本番」
[ In The Midst of Autumn ]
近くの山中にある公園は、今正に秋本番。
ワンちゃん達も秋を満喫していました。
In the midst of autumn, dogs also enjoy it.
「行く秋」[ Passing of Autumn ]
山深い吉野の秋は、足早に去って行く。
冬支度をする農夫の打つ斧の音が、山深くこだまする。
暫しの金世界を楽しみながら、シャッターを切った。
Autumn in the deep forest of Yoshino in Nara Pref., is quickly fading away.
「山里に生きる」
江戸末期に建てられた藁葺の家屋に、今も暮す山里レディー。
積日の人生ドラマに魅了され、通うこと10年余り。
まだまだ話は尽きない。
[ Living in a Mountain Village ]
I have been following the life of an elderly woman living in a mountain village for over 10 years.
「アミちゃん」[ Ami-chan ]
こんなに大きくなりました。
素敵に育ってくれることを願っています！
Ami-chan my niece’s child is growing so fast!
I hope she grows up to be a wonderful person!
「雨の日の散歩」[ Walking on the rainy day ]
奈良県にある室生芸術村の一角です。
ドイツ人が設計したそうです。
これ以外にもたくさん面白い作り物があって、写真撮影にもいい所です。
At Muro Art Village in Nara Pref., my wife is walking along the winding road which was designed by a German person on the rainy day.
「花のトンネル」[ A Tunnel Made of Flower ]
我が家からそんなに遠くない所に、花のトンネルがあります。
秋深くなれば、毎年こんな光景が見られます。
知る人ぞ知る場所です。
Near my house, there is a tunnel made of a lot of flowers. In deep autumn, it can be seen every year.
「左義長春を呼ぶ」 [ Calling Spring ]
秋葉神社のお祭り、左義長です。
年一度2月に、その年の豊作を祈る火（日）の祭典です。
Sagicho is a festival that welcomes spring.
People pray to fire(=sun) god for a bountiful harvest every Feburary.
「お伽の国へ」[ To the fairyland ]
トップページに使ってある写真です。
農業用の大きな池です。水面がこんなに鏡のような日は
1年のうちそんなにはありません。
女神さんがほほ笑んだ瞬間です。
This is a large pond in the forest.
It’s rare throughout the year for the water’s surface to become as clear as glass, creating a fairytale-like atmosphere.
The Nara Prefectural Art Exhibition is here again this year. I submitted a photograph of the elderly woman, whom I’ve been following for over 10 years.
「しずかな日々」[ Calm Days ]
今年も奈良展がやってきました。
今年も昨年と同じ方を撮らせていただきました。
穏やかにしずかに、毎日を過ごされている様子を表現しました。
「小春日和」[ In the soft Sunlight of winter afternoon ]
暖かい日が降り注ぐ冬の午後、ついつい遠回りをして帰りたくなる挨拶回りの日。
On a mild winter day, we can’t help but want to take the long way home.
Tamahagane, the raw material for Japanese swords, is still produced using a method that has remained unchanged for over a thousand years. They are the only remaining Tatara craftsmen in Japan, living in Okuizumo, Shimane Prefecture.
「タタラに生きる」[ Living by the Tatara Method ]
日本刀の原材料「玉鋼（たまはがね）」、一千数百年以上変わらない製法で今もつくられている。日本で唯一、島根県の奥出雲に生きるタタラ職人です。
「Difference is Beautiful」
一つずつの違った色合いが一つになると、また違った美しさを放ってくる。
町角で出会った光景です。
When each individual color comes together, it radiates a different kind of beauty.
This is a scene I encountered on a street corner.
「春を呼ぶ」[ Bringing Spring ]
一年に一度のヨシ焼き。
来春のきれいな新芽を期待して、全ての素晴らしい再生を、そして村人の幸せを祈念して。
・・・春遠からじ！
「春近し」[ Spring Is Coming ]
昨日、1月25日は若草山の山焼きでした。
昼前に現地に向かいましたが、もうすでに撮影スポットはカメラマンで立錐の余地もありませんでした。
一日前から場所取りをしていた方たちにお願いして、カメラとカメラのわずかな隙間から収めた山焼きと花火です。
花火は、パソコンで後ほど多重露光をしました。
雰囲気だけでも伝わりますでしょうか。
手前は朱雀門です。
This is Wakakusa-yama burning whichi is held every January 25th.
It means spring has come around us.
「春を呼ぶ」[ Calling Spring ]
奈良、二月堂の「お水取り」が終わりました。
春がやって来ました。
子どもの頃から、「お水取り」と聞くと、その向こうの暖かく穏やかな春のにおいがしました。
たんぽぽや桜や菜の花のにおいです。
そんな中で育ち、歳を重ねて来ました。
Omizutori is over. It means spring has come.
Beyond that, we can smell the warm and gentle scent of dandelions, rapeseed flowers, and cherry blossoms in bloom.
That’s how I’ve grown older.
「雨上がりの春」[ Spring After the Rain ]
さっきまで降っていた雨が止んでもやが晴れ、空気は浄化されてずいぶん遠くまで見通せるようになりました。
今が盛りの八重桜が、ひと際鮮やかに目に沁みます。
The air is purified after the rain.
The double-flowered cherry blossoms are in full bloom right now and look absolutely beautiful.
This was taken at Nozawa-dam in Shiga Pref.
「山里に生きる」Ⅱ [ Living in a Mountain Village Ⅱ ]
前出の「山里に生きる」、「しずかな日々」のおばあちゃんです。
今回は、モノクロ3枚でまとめてみました。

「納涼花火大会」[ Fireworks Festival ]
毎日、本当に暑いですね。
先日行われた名張市の花火大会の一コマです。
2～3枚のショットをPC合成しています。
少しでも涼しさがとどきましたでしょうか。
It’s hot everyday, isn’ it?
This is the fireworks festival in our city which is held every July.
I hope this gives you a little bit of a sense of coolness.
「琵琶湖花火大会」[ Biwako Fireworks Festival ]
先日、琵琶湖で毎年恒例の花火大会がありました。
浮御堂をシルエットに撮ってみました。
途中からあいにくの雨が降り出しましたが、カメラにビニールを被せながら最後まで撮影したのですが、やっぱりクリアーには撮れませんでした。
しかし、雰囲気だけは伝わるのではとアップすることにしました。
I captured fireworks behind the silhouette of Ukimidou(the temple floating on the lake Biwa).
Unfortunately, it started raining partway through. So, the fireworks weren’t taken so clear.
「コンビニ電車」[ A train on the convenience store ]
滋賀県に面白いコンビニストアーがあります。
コンビニの屋根に電車の置物が！
いえいえ、これは信楽鉄道で、ちゃんと乗客を乗せて動いているのです。
ちょうどコンビニの裏の土手の上を電車が通る時、このように見えるのです。実に面白いですね。
写真は「うそつき」の側面があるのです。
There is a train on a convenience store in Shiga Pref.
This is actually a Shigaraki Railway train, and it’s fully operational with passengers on board.
It looks really interesting, doesn’t it ?
「故郷への道」[ The Road to My Hometown ]
奈良県の山中に、懐かしい景色を見ました。
この道を真っすぐ進めば、我が故郷に続くような錯覚を覚えました。

When I was a little child, thatched-roof houses like this were seen everywhere.
「あわい」[ Awai ]
長いトンネルの先に地上へ続く階段があって、一人の少女が今その先へ登って行こうとしています。
「この先、何があるのだろうか。」覗き込むように、興味津々な様子で、一段一段、階段を登っていきます。
今春、社会デビューする彼女の心情を現しているように感じて撮りました。
“What’s up ahead?” She peers out, her face filled with curiosity, as she climbs up the stairs step by step.
I felt that it reflected the feeling of a young woman about to make her debut in society this spring.
「土に生きて」 [ Rooted in the Soil ]
10年以上、撮らせてもらっている、お婆ちゃんです。一生、土と共に生きています。
土に生きることの厳しさ、その喜び、そして生活を、三枚に表現しました。
今年は、初めて上位賞をいただきました。
展示されればいいと、これまでは思っていましたが、やはり賞が付くとテンションが上がりますね。
また頑張ろう！

I expressed her harshness, joy, and life of living in harmony with the earth in three dimensions by monochrome.
「雨の日模様」[ Rainy Weather ]
雨の日の奈良の街で出会った光景です。
映り込みを強調したくて、足元と路面にフォーカスして撮りました。
This is a scene I encountered in the streets of Nara on a rainy day.
I focused on their feet and the road surface to emphasize the reflections.
「雨の日模様２」
これも雨の日の奈良の街です。商店街に交差する細い路地裏通りです。日が暮れて、これからが本番の居酒屋さん、占い師さんの店、など入りたくなるような店が並んでいます。
雨に濡れて光る路面がきれいでした。
This is also on a rainy day in Nara. There are a lot of narrow back alleys that are crossing each other in the town.
As dusk falls, the streets are lined with inviting shops, including izakayas (Japanese pubs) and fortune tellers’ stalls, all of which are just getting into their prime.
「無常」
わが家から小1時間ほどの所に一軒の廃屋があって、最後の美を放っています。
先日、雪の日に訪れました。廃屋は吹雪化粧の中で一段と綺麗で、何かを語りかけています。
「諸行無常」そんな言葉が頭をよぎります。
[ Impermanence ]
About an hour’s drive from my house, there’s an abandoned house, radiating its final beauty.
I visited it the other day on a snowy day. The house looked even more beautiful amidst the blizzard, as if it were speaking something to me.
The phrase “All things are impermanent” crossed my mind.
「Spring Has Come」
奈良県の明日香村にある公園です。
モデルの子は、ベトナムから来ていた方たちで、日本語がとても流暢でした。
綺麗に咲いた桜によく似合う清楚な方たちでした。
もう、春です！

This is the park which is located in Asuka village, Nara Pref..
Ladies in the photos are from Vietnam, who spoke Japanese so fluently.
They were elegant ladies who perfectly suited the beautifully blooming cherry blossoms.
Spring is here!
Jyonen mountain of Northern Alps can be seen behind two Dososhin (roadside guardian god) that are between two cherry trees. The Dososhin are called “Jyonen Dososhin”.
I like this view.
「安曇野の春」
春の安曇野へ行ってきました。今回はワサビ畑はパスです。常念岳を中心に撮ってみました。
田んぼには、まだ水が入ってなくて、映り込みは残念ながら・・・
[ Spring in Azumino ]
Azumino in Nagano Pref. is famous for beautiful scenery. We can enjoy and take good photos everywhere.
The rice paddies don’t have water in them yet, so unfortunately there’s no reflection…
「白馬の旅」[ Trip to Hakuba ]
午前4時45分頃、青鬼集落からの白馬のながめです。
This is a view of Hakuba of Northern Alps from the Aooni settlement at around 4:45 AM.
I took a short trip from Azumino to Hakuba Village.
Rice paddy preparation, just before planting, was in full swing.
The reflection of the snow-capped Alps in the water was incredibly beautiful.
I was overwhelmed by the magnificent panoramic view with the Alps in the background.
I sincerely hope to visit again here in a different season.
安曇野から一足伸ばして「白馬村」まで行ってきました。
今はちょうど田植え前の水田づくりがさかんにされていました。
残雪を頂いたアルプスの映り込みがすごくきれいです。
アルプスをバックに雄大な景色が広がるパノラマに圧倒されました。
今度は別の季節にも訪れたいと切に願っています。
